Our Story: From Northern England to the Heart of Brittany
We never set out to simply create a holiday rental, we set out to build a place filled with warmth, charm and the magic of Brittany.
Originally from the North East of England, we developed a deep love for French culture over many years of travel. After exploring regions across France, it was Brittany and especially the Côtes d’Armor that captured our hearts. Its rugged coastline, peaceful rivers, medieval towns and welcoming people offered something truly special.
The moment we discovered Léhon, one of the region’s prettiest historic villages and this former boathouse by the Rance River, we knew it was where we belonged. With its stone walls, beams and riverside views, it felt like a place where life slows down and history quietly surrounds you.
A Riverside Home With Heart
We’ve lovingly refurbished Quai du Val and hosted guests at our riverside gîte just minutes from Dinan, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in France. Our goal has always been simple: to create a welcoming retreat where guests feel truly at home.
We love helping guests enjoy the best of this region — whether you're looking for scenic river walks into Dinan, crêpes in a charming café, castle visits, cycling along the Rance, or exploring Brittany’s dramatic coastline.

We’re always delighted to help uncover hidden beaches, local markets, scenic riverside walks and restaurants tucked away down cobbled streets, all the little discoveries that make a holiday special.
More than anything, we feel incredibly privileged to be part of so many happy moments: family adventures, reunions with loved ones, quiet escapes and celebrations. Quai du Val may have beautiful stone walls, characterful beams and riverside views, but it’s the people who stay here who truly bring it to life!
